Serious ground preparation for farms, orchards and pasture across the Lockyer Valley, Darling Downs, Toowoomba, Kingaroy, Bundaberg and Northern NSW — opens compacted soil, restores water infiltration and gets the ground working again.
Improves soil aeration quickly, boosts crop yield.
Ploughing & Deep Ripping — Grizzly 48 plate · Yeomans Plough. Benefit: improves soil aeration quickly, boosts crop yield. Compacted, hard-set ground is one of the biggest hidden costs in Queensland agriculture — water runs off instead of soaking in, roots can't push down, and yield drops year after year the problem is ignored.
Our Grizzly Field Master 48 plate plough handles large-scale primary ploughing — busting hardpan and preparing paddocks for replanting, pasture renovation or new establishment. The Yeomans plough opens the soil profile without inverting it, lifting compaction, improving water movement and supporting biological activity in line with keyline farming principles.
Kustom Contracting works the cropping belt and grazing country across the Lockyer Valley, Toowoomba and the Darling Downs, north through Kingaroy, the Mary Valley, Gin Gin and Bundaberg, and south into Northern NSW around Byron Bay and Bangalow. Cropping ground, grazing country, macadamia and avocado orchards, lifestyle properties and tired country needing a reset — all suit a properly planned ploughing or deep ripping pass.

Frequently asked
What's the difference between ploughing and deep ripping?+
Ploughing (Grizzly 48) generally turns and breaks the upper soil profile for renovation and replant. Deep ripping (Yeomans) opens the profile to depth without inverting it — ideal for relieving compaction while keeping topsoil and biology in place.
When is the best time to plough or rip?+
Timing depends on soil type, moisture and what's planned next. As a general rule, soil should be moist enough to fracture but not wet enough to smear. We'll advise on timing for your block.
Will deep ripping really lift my yields?+
On compacted or run-down country, properly executed deep ripping can produce a noticeable lift in pasture and crop response by opening water and root pathways. We don't promise miracles, but the gains on tired country can be significant.
